The lovely, heavily textured Rough Back Abalone shell in this piece of art is indigenous to the waters of Baja and bears quiet, soft hues of sea salt and the signature fiery hues of mother of pearl. Variegated shades of chalky white wash the highly textured side of the shell, and like hidden treasures, the opposite hues and texture - smooth mother of pearl imbued in cool silvery blues and greens swirl in iridescent beauty on the inner side of the mysterious shell. Heavy, sculpted solder washed in the timeworn hues of rusted and weathered iron forever bind the shell to its perfect match - an antique beach bottle of pale aqua blue, painted by time and the elements in a subtle patina of soft white.

Commanding in size and mysterious beauty, an alluring dark sea fan coral crowns a rare 100+ year old bottle of pale sea blue glass. Weighty and-blown, the glass is thick and veiled in a soft white, giving it a dreamy underwater quality. An iridescence enshrouds the patina, seeming soft until light happens upon it at which point a confetti, in a riot of colors, appears.

Reminiscent of a winter bare tree, the limbs of the sea fan stretch skyward, showing each beautiful nuance. Seemingly growing from a seabed of solder, the massive sea fan is rich in texture, elegant in pattern and architectural in nature -- part of the beautiful symphony of both contrasting and complementing elements within this one of a kind piece of art. A stunning relic of the sea, it boasts warm hues which range from almost black to red-tinged cinnabar. thinning and fading to delicate sanguine tips. Deceiving in looks, the sea fan is not a plant, but rather a soft coral colony and has an ethereal translucence which is most lovely at the tips and bathed in light.

Faded shades of red violets and taupey greys wash over the 3-dimensional rays of the scallop shell plucked from the cool waters of the sea of Cortez.
